SAFETY AND PREPAREDNESS

The Physical Plant Safety Committee 's mission is to promote safety throughout the workplace through the development of safety awareness, training and employee involvement to eliminate accidents in the workplace. The committee has been in place since April 1995. Representatives are appointed to a 2 year term with representation alternating between two shops within the department (General Service/Central Mail have one representative). The committee is comprised of 8 members appointed to 2 year terms, the Building Maintenance Coordinator, and Personnel Assistant. The committee has presented safety training, identified the need for safety equipment, and purchased such equipment.
